ebe was a daughter of Zeus and Hera, the wife of Heracles in heaven and the goddess of youth. On Olympus she served the gods their nectar, attended the chariot of
Hera, and attended the convalescing of Ares after he had been
wounded during the fighting in the Trojan War. When Heracles came to Olympus, Hebe was
given to him in marriage.
After her marriage, Ganymede, a Trojan prince who had been seized by Zeus (in the shape of an eagle) and brought to Olympus, succeeded Hebe as cupbearer to the gods.
